 In February, we are featuring a Valentine’s Eve Dinner with four courses and a selection of wines on Saturday the 13th. You will enjoy some fabulous food and wines plus a chocolate desert you will never forget. Roses on the tables and Frank Sinatra in the background all add to the romantic ambiance for your escape. We are also providing complementary roses in all of the guestrooms for the weekend as an added touch.
Our February Wine Dinner features the wines of Charles Krug, Napa Valley’s oldest winery. The Peter Mondavi family has had the winery for over 60 years and does a superb job with their outstanding estate wines. I visited the winery last August and was hosted by Peter Mondavi himself and obtained a much better appreciation of his wines and their enhancement with foods. The dinner is Friday, the 19th and features six wines and five paired food courses. A previous guest exclaimed that it was the best three hours he spent with his pants on. Quite a compliment indeed!
Speaking of wine, we are having our first annual Monteagle Inn Wine Weekend the first weekend in March. We will begin with a formal wine tasting on Friday, the 5th followed by dinner and wines at HighPoint Restaurant. Saturday, after the “mountain gourmet” breakfast, we will have a wine tasting and then head up to Arrington Vineyards for an in-depth tour with a tasting and catered lunch. We will return to the inn for a Napa Valley Wine Dinner featuring the wines of Kobrand Corp, including Domaine Carneros, Cakebread and Sequoia Grove. Sunday after breakfast and relaxing, we will have a sendoff Champagne Brunch with 5 sparkling wines from around the world….yum, yum. A late checkout is included in the package of course.
